Home

Home...

Where the coffee is always good, and you never have to put lotion on your elbows.

Honduras is probably known for 2 things - good coffee and high humidity.

Mark and I made it back to the green mountain tops of Honduras, and slept in our own bed last night.

Hallelujah!

We had the most incredible time traveling in the US of A for the past 6 weeks. We packed on a good 10 pounds of Grade A beef, as we ate our way through 7 states - visiting countless numbers of family and friends while building new relationships with churches and supporters.

We laughed and laughed and laughed over coffee, lunches, dinners and late night meetings.

We prayed holding hands with some of the people we love the most in this world.

We shared our heart for missions, and all about the work God is doing in Honduras. We sowed into youth groups, nursing students, prayer meetings, small groups, church congregations and friends alike. We were blessed by good biblical teaching at HPC and all of the churches we visited. We soaked up the honest testimonies of other missionaries, and learned so much from their candid words.

Mark and I enjoyed our time together traveling. Most of our dating relationship was spent in a car driving from one event, outreach or family party to another - so it was reminiscent of the early days. We spent much needed time with family members. We built new bridges, and repaired some damaged ones. We tired to cram as much into a few days as  possible, so that we could honor our families with a string of uninterrupted days; days where we could just do life together.

God is just overwhelmingly good. We learned to lean on Him when the days were difficult. When we were tired from driving or exhausted from talking - He was there extending His grace to us. When we missed home, and craved the comfortable environment of the jungle - He was there saying, "...you can do all things through Christ..." Just as we thought we couldn't make it another day, as the anxieties rose, challenges presented themselves and interruptions reared their ugly little heads - He was there saying, Remember I am sovereign.

During the past 6 weeks we have grown closer together as a couple, grown in faith that our God is forever faithful, and made lasting memories with old friends and new ones alike.

Thank you Lord, for just being yourself, and for showing us more of who you are every time we ask. And thank you to our blogger family for your prayers and encouragement. Every time you say, "we read your blog" or "don't stop writing your updates" I am encouraged to keep on keeping on! You guys are amazing!
